Natalie Foy

Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)

I am Natalie Foy, a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) located in Ontario, Canada.

Seeking support is a courageous step—an act of resilience and hope. Life’s challenges can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to face them alone. At The Holding Space, therapy offers more than just a place to talk—it’s a space intentionally created to be safe, supportive, and free of judgment. Together, we’ll collaborate at your pace, honoring your unique story and strengths as we navigate the path toward your goals.

You may feel uncertain about starting therapy—and that’s completely okay. I’m here to listen with openness and compassion, to meet you where you are, and to gently challenge when it’s helpful. In the holding space we create together, everything is welcome. You don’t need to have the right words—we’ll find them together.

Approaches

As a therapist, I hold a deep commitment to continual learning, not only through formal supervision and research but also by remaining open to the insights and experiences my clients bring into the therapeutic space. Every session is an opportunity to grow—professionally and personally—by reflecting on what I learn from each individual. With a foundation in evidence-based practices, my preferred modalities include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), and Narrative Therapy, all grounded in a humanistic, person-centred approach. This integrated perspective allows me to adapt to each client’s unique needs while staying anchored in empathy, authenticity, and respect.

About Me

I grew up in a small town, and after years of education, self-exploration, and a decade living and working in Fort McMurray, Alberta, I’ve found my way back home. Along the way, I’ve experienced my share of struggle—something I believe deeply connects us as human beings. A natural disaster played an unexpected role in rerouting my path, reminding me how quickly life can change and how resilience often comes from the most unexpected places.

On a personal note, I often joke that my husband and I have been in couples’ therapy since our second date—but in truth, that commitment to growth and communication has laid the foundation for the relationship we have today, alongside our three children and two dogs. Running, music, and the beach are my anchors. Whether shared with family and friends or enjoyed in solitude, they are vital to my own mental well-being and help me show up fully for the people I work with.

Why I do Virtual Therapy

Because you can get deep without leaving your blanket burrito

Because ugly crying hits different in the comfort of your own home
